Today I am going to discuss a mummy topic, so for everyone else my next post will interest you more, so stick with me.
Being a first time mom and doing everything related to baby for first time always made me nervous and scared. عدد اوراق الدومينو I want my baby to eat healthy and stay fit. But then once you start weaning, you pray that they just eat something no matter if it is healthy or not. At-least, something goes in their stomach. So when I started introducing semi-solids to baby I started with “moong-dal-paani” and” khichdi” and stuck to healthy options as much as possible. I was advised to not give cerelac or any ready to eat product from market as they are not healthy enough.
But gradually when her taste buds developed she started rejecting a lot of items because if which I introduced cerelac and other products in her diet. And I do not feel guilty about it at all. They may not be as healthy as freshly home cooked food is but at-least she is eating something. I do what I feel is right for my baby. I give her packed food but the quantity is limited. I balance the home cooked and packed food which works for me. So do what you feel is right for your baby. Give her what he/she needs but limit the amount.
So I would be discussing everything that I gave my baby and other meal options and how did I set a eating schedule for her.
Setting a schedule:
Till 6 months I did not gave her anything except my feed not even water. I use to feed her till one year but after six months I made sure she had proper meal which I increased gradually starting from once a day to a proper brekfast-lunch and dinner routine. (My baby was teeth less till one year, she got her first teeth when she was 1 year 1 month)
So to set a schedule make a proper routine of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cook 3 meals for her everyday, no matter if she eats one spoon or even does not eat. Keep trying, sooner or later she will understand she has to eat her 3 meals. Do not substitute meal with milk. If baby is not eating, do not offer a bottle of milk immediately. Wait for an hour and then give her bottle when its her milk time. By this she will know that she cannot have milk all the time. She will get milk only when it is time for milk and not as substitute for food.
Baby Food for First Year Options:
Coming to Food Options, I have listed what I gave and tried:
Food options from 6 to 8th Month:
- Moon Dal or Dal Soup
- Any Vegetable Soup
- Dalia : In beginning baby won’t be able to eat the granule’s, so turn the dalia in powder form. To do that, dry roast dalia in a pan and then once its cool down grind it in powder form. Now when serving again roast the powder little, add milk and boil it for some time and its ready. As an alternative I used “Aha Dalia” . I made Dalia as normally and then beat it using hand blender in a thick liquid form.
- Mashed banana
- Boiled Potato
- Coconut Water
- Corn flakes: For this again, grind regular corn flakes in powder form. Mix in warm milk and serve.
- Milk and Biscuit
Food Options from 8months to an year: Now even without teeths after 8 months I started with Roti and peeled fruits. I gave her very small bites which she would gulp down directly.
